From tree pruning to plant healthcare and lawn fertilization, our experienced team is here to ensure your landscape thrives year-round.
We deliver expert, seasonal care designed to keep your property healthy, vibrant, and well-maintained in every season.
Professional pruning improves structure, safety, appearance, and long-term tree health. We provide expert tree pruning throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee using industry-standard practices that preserve the natural form and value of your trees. Whether we are removing deadwood, reducing overextended limbs, improving clearance, or correcting structural problems, every cut is made with the future of the tree in mind.
Healthy trees start with an accurate diagnosis. Our plant health care programs target insects, diseases, nutrient deficiencies, and environmental stress with treatments tailored to your trees and your property. Rather than treating every problem the same way, we evaluate what is actually affecting the plant and build a practical treatment plan designed to improve health, appearance, and resilience over time.
Emerald Ash Borer is a serious threat to ash trees across Middle Tennessee. We provide professional trunk injection treatments that can protect healthy, valuable ash trees from this destructive insect. Before recommending treatment, we evaluate the species, condition, size, and overall value of the tree to determine whether preservation makes sense and develop an appropriate treatment schedule.
Bagworms can rapidly defoliate arborvitae, junipers, cedars, and other valuable landscape plants. Our Nashville-area bagworm treatments are carefully timed to target the pest when control is most effective, helping stop active infestations before significant damage occurs. We can also identify susceptible plants throughout the property and help develop a plan to reduce recurring problems from year to year.
Yellowing leaves, canopy decline, dead branches, poor growth, and premature leaf drop can have many different causes. We evaluate the entire plant and its growing environment, including insects, diseases, roots, soil conditions, planting depth, and environmental stress. We offer rapid, lab-grade in-field testing for Phytophthora. Our goal is to identify the underlying problem before recommending treatment.
Many tree problems begin below ground, where compacted soil, buried root collars, poor drainage, and limited rooting space can quietly affect tree health for years. We provide services such as root collar excavation, soil decompaction, organic matter incorporation, and targeted soil management to improve the growing environment around your trees. Better soil conditions can support stronger roots, improved vigor, and greater resilience to stress.
Concerned about a large, leaning, damaged, or declining tree? A professional TRAQ assessment can help you understand what is actually happening before making an expensive decision. We evaluate tree condition, structural defects, site conditions, potential targets, and other factors to help Tennessee property owners make informed decisions about monitoring, pruning, mitigation, preservation, or removal.
When preservation is no longer practical or safe, our experienced crews provide professional tree removal with careful planning, property protection, and safety at every stage. Trees may require removal because of severe decline, structural defects, storm damage, construction conflicts, or changing site conditions. We evaluate the situation first and recommend removal when it is the appropriate long-term decision for the tree and the property.
At GreenRoots, we are more than just a tree service company; we are stewards of your landscape. Rooted in the heart of Lafayette, Tennessee, our mission is to preserve the natural beauty of Middle Tennessee while providing expert tree care tailored to your needs. Here’s why we’re the trusted choice for tree care in our community

GreenRoots is led by an ISA Board Certified Master Arborist, the highest credential offered by the International Society of Arboriculture. That expertise shapes how we diagnose problems, recommend treatments, prune trees, and evaluate risk, giving our clients access to advanced arboricultural knowledge on every project..

Middle Tennessee presents its own challenges, from heavy clay soils and summer heat to severe storms, invasive pests, and rapidly changing landscapes. We understand the trees, soils, and growing conditions found throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee and tailor our recommendations to what works here.

Tree work demands careful planning, proper equipment, and a strong safety culture. Our crews approach each property with attention to the tree, the surrounding landscape, structures, utilities, and everyone working nearby so the job can be completed efficiently and responsibly.

Healthy trees start with understanding what is actually causing the problem. We use professional diagnostics, current arboricultural research, and targeted treatments to manage insects, diseases, soil problems, and environmental stress rather than relying on unnecessary or one-size-fits-all applications.

We want you to understand what is happening with your trees and what your options are. If a tree can reasonably be preserved, we will tell you. If treatment is unlikely to provide meaningful benefit, we will tell you that too. Our recommendations are based on what we believe is best for the tree and your property.

GreenRoots was built around the idea that good tree care should strengthen both landscapes and the communities around them. We value skilled work, continual learning, stewardship, and treating people fairly. Our goal is to build long-term relationships with clients who care about their trees as much as we do.
When you choose GreenRoots Tree Care, you’re choosing a partner who cares as much about your trees as you do. Let us help you protect your green investments and ensure your property’s natural beauty thrives for years to come.
An ISA Board Certified Master Arborist is an arborist who has achieved the highest level of certification offered by the International Society of Arboriculture. GreenRoots is led by a Board Certified Master Arborist, bringing advanced knowledge of tree biology, diagnosis, pruning, plant health care, soil management, and tree risk assessment to clients throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee. There are fewer than 1,700 BCMAs in the entire world.
GreenRoots provides professional tree care throughout Nashville and communities across Middle Tennessee. Our services include tree pruning, plant health care, tree and shrub diagnosis, soil and root care, tree risk assessments, pest treatments, and tree removal.
Dead branches, extensive decay, structural defects, root damage, severe decline, or changes in the surrounding site can all affect whether a tree can be safely retained. We evaluate the tree, its condition, potential targets, and available management options before recommending removal. When a tree can reasonably be preserved, we want you to know that too.
Sometimes. Tree decline can result from insects, disease, compacted soil, root problems, improper planting depth, drought stress, nutrient deficiencies, or several factors working together. Accurate diagnosis is the first step. We identify the underlying problem and determine whether pruning, treatment, soil improvement, monitoring, or another approach offers a reasonable path forward.
GreenRoots has a $750 minimum for tree care projects. Our estimates are based on an industry-standard rate of approximately $150 per labor hour, per crew member, plus any equipment or project-specific requirements. For perspective, a four-person tree crew working a full eight-hour day represents approximately $4,800 in labor. We inspect each project before providing a final estimate because tree size, complexity, access, equipment needs, and site conditions can significantly affect the work required.
If you are considering a tree removal, try our Tree Removal Calculator to get a ballpark price range before scheduling an assessment.
Yes. GreenRoots provides professional tree and shrub diagnosis for insect, disease, soil, root, and environmental problems. Our diagnostic capabilities include rapid, lab-grade in-field testing for suspected Phytophthora, allowing us to gather additional information on-site before developing a treatment or management plan.
The best pruning time depends on the tree species, its condition, and the reason for pruning. Some pruning can be performed throughout the year, while certain objectives are better addressed during specific seasons. We consider tree biology, pest and disease concerns, flowering cycles, and the goals of the pruning before recommending timing.
Yes. GreenRoots provides professional Emerald Ash Borer treatments for suitable ash trees and targeted bagworm treatments for susceptible trees and shrubs. Proper identification, treatment selection, and timing are important, so we evaluate the affected plants and property before recommending a treatment program.
Yes. GreenRoots provides emergency tree work for storm-damaged, failed, or hazardous trees throughout Nashville and Middle Tennessee. If a tree or large limb has fallen on a home, driveway, vehicle, or other structure, or if a damaged tree presents an immediate risk of failure, contact us as soon as possible. We can assess the situation, stabilize hazards when appropriate, and safely remove failed trees or limbs.
Emergency storm work is billed on a time-and-materials basis rather than at our normal fixed project pricing. Applicable hazard and overtime factors are added to our standard base labor rate to account for the additional risk, scheduling demands, and working conditions associated with emergency response. Equipment, disposal, hauling, crane services, and other project-specific costs are billed as applicable.
Emergency calls are prioritized based on the severity of the hazard, crew availability, site access, and weather conditions.
